    Apple OS X FileVault:


    Apple OS X FileVault is a method of using encryption with volumes on Mac computers. Encryption and decryption are performed on the fly. FileVault 2 uses full disk, XTS-AES 128 encryption to help keep your data secure. Using FileVault 2, you can encrypt the contents of your entire drive.


    ArcGIS is a geographic information system (GIS) for working with maps and geographic information. It is used for: creating and using maps; compiling geographic data; analyzing mapped information; sharing and discovering geographic information; using maps and geographic information in a range of applications; and managing geographic information in a database.



    Eraser-logoEraser is a free and open-source secure deletion utility for use on Windows based systems. It allows files to be deleted in a way that prevents them from being accidentally, maliciously, or forensically recovered. Secure deletion is the electronic analog of shredding physical documents to prevent the accidental release of protected health information.

    Google Forms LogoGoogle forms is a tool that collects information from users via a personalized survey or quiz. The information is automatically connected to a spreadsheet with the same name. The spreadsheet is populated with the survey and quiz responses.

    KeePass Password Safe is a freeopen sourcecross-platform and light-weight password management utility for Microsoft Windows, with unofficial ports for LinuxMac OS XiOSAndroid, and Windows Phone. KeePass stores all usernames, passwords, other fields, including free-form notes, in a securely encrypted database, protected by a single master password and/or key file. Unlike many other password management tools, by default the KeePass encrypted database is not stored in the cloud, but strictly locally, for added security.

    LibreOffice is a free software package that offers programs that are similar to Microsoft Office including a spreadsheet and database management system. Open Office can read and write most Microsoft Office files.  It also enables use of a modern open standard, the OpenDocument Format (ODF).

    LibreOffice branched out from OpenOffice and is built on the original OpenOffice code base.  The two packages are very similar, although there is currently more activity surrounding the development of LibreOffice.

    LUKS: Linux Unified Key Setup:


    The Linux Unified Key Setup or LUKS is a disk-encryption specification created in 2004 and originally intended for Linux. While most disk encryption software implements different and incompatible, undocumented formats, LUKS specifies a platform-independent standard on-disk format for use in various tools. This not only facilitates compatibility and interoperability amongst different programs, but also assures that they all implement password management in a secure and documented manner.

    Microsoft BitLocker:

    BitLocker is a full disk encryption feature included with the Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, the Pro and Enterprise editions of Windows 8and Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2008 and later. It is designed to protect data by providing encryption for entire volumes. By default it uses the AES encryption algorithm in cipher block chaining (CBC) mode with a 128-bit or 256-bit key, combined with the Elephant diffuser for additional disk encryption-specific security not provided by AES. CBC is not used over the whole disk, only for each individual disk sector.

    Password Safe:


    Password Safe allows you to safely and easily create a secured and encrypted user name/password list. With Password Safe you create a single “Master Password” of your choice in order to unlock and access your entire user name/password list.

    Symantec Drive Encryption provides organizations with comprehensive, high performance full disk encryption for all data (user files, swap files, system files, hidden files, etc.) on desktops, laptops, and removable media. This full disk encryption software protects data from unauthorized access, providing strong security for intellectual property, customer, and partner data. Protected systems can be centrally managed by Symantec Encryption Management Server simplifying deployment, policy creation, distribution, and reporting.

    Symantec File Share Encryption:

    File Share Encryption allows users to automatically and transparently encrypt individual files and folders on laptops, desktops, and file servers enabling secure sharing of protected documents, spreadsheets, graphics files and more. File Share Encryption provides client-based server encryption that can be managed via Symantec Encryption Management Server to enforce corporate data protection and key management policies.



    Tableau is software used for data exploration and visualization.  Users can connect to their data and easily begin to see patterns, identify trends, and discover visual insights without having to write any code.

    TrueCrypt 7.1a:

     TrueCrypt is a discontinued source-available freeware utility used for on-the-fly encryption (OTFE).  It can create a virtual encrypted disk within a file or encrypt a partition or (under Microsoft Windows except Windows 8 with GPT) the entire storage device (pre-boot authentication).Truecrypt 7.1a is the last full-functioning version of the software.
